PMEX index closes at 3,442 points

KARACHI, May 08: The Pakistan Mercantile Exchange Limited (PMEX)'s commodity index on Monday closed at 3,442 points; with the traded value of metals, energy and COTS/FX recorded at 3.995 billion.

The number of lots traded was 5,879, said a PMEX statement on Tuesday. (The data is compiled and released after 24 hours.)

Major business was contributed by WTI crude oil amounting to Rs 1.476 billion, followed by gold Rs 1.150 billion, currencies through COTS Rs 536.223 million, platinum Rs 302.161 million, SP500 Rs 158.966 million, NSDQ100 Rs 153.058 million, DJ Rs 115.264 million, silver Rs 52.961 million, copper Rs 24.619 million, natural gas Rs 19.659 million and Brent Rs 5.328 million. In agricultural commodities, 27 lots of cotton amounting to Rs 18.068 million were traded. (APP)
