PM reaffirms Pakistan’s solidarity with Saudi Arabia

July 23, 2026 (MLN): Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif held a telephone conversation on Thursday morning with Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.

During the conversation, the prime minister strongly condemned the attacks by the Houthi militia on Saudi oil tankers in the Red Sea, calling them completely unacceptable.

He said such actions were a blatant violation of international law, threatened the freedom of navigation and commercial shipping, and undermined regional peace, security, and stability.

Shehbaz Sharif reaffirmed Pakistan's complete solidarity with Saudi Arabia, saying that he, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, and the entire Pakistani nation stood firmly with the Saudi leadership and the people of the Kingdom during this critical time.

He also reiterated Pakistan's unwavering support for Saudi Arabia's security, sovereignty, territorial integrity, and prosperity.

The prime minister assured the Saudi crown prince that Pakistan would continue to work closely with the Kingdom and the international community to promote peace, security, and stability and ensure the uninterrupted flow of lawful maritime trade in the Red Sea, the Strait of Hormuz, and the wider region.

Prince Mohammed bin Salman appreciated Pakistan's consistent support and the close brotherly ties between the two countries.

The prime minister also conveyed his best wishes and goodwill to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.
