August 06, 2026 (MLN): Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif departed on Thursday for a three-day official visit to Saudi Arabia, where he is scheduled to hold talks with the Kingdom's leadership on strengthening bilateral relations and discussing key regional and international developments.

The prime minister is leading a high-level delegation that includes Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, along with several federal ministers, according to APP.

Deputy Prime Minister Dar is expected to join the delegation from Madina Munawwara after completing his visit to Jordan, where he attended the Ministerial Meeting on Jerusalem.

During the visit, Prime Minister Shehbaz will meet Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.

The two leaders are expected to review the full spectrum of Pakistan-Saudi Arabia relations, explore ways to expand strategic cooperation, and exchange views on regional and global issues of mutual interest.

The visit shows the longstanding partnership between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, built on decades of close political, economic and defence cooperation, as well as strong people-to-people ties.

Taking place amid heightened tensions in the Gulf region, the visit is also expected to enhance coordination between the two countries on regional challenges, strengthen cooperation in multilateral forums, and reinforce their strategic partnership across multiple sectors.
