June 18, 2025 (MLN): Pakistan’s Prime Minister’s Youth Programme (PMYP) has signed a Letter of Intent (LoI) with the Fauji Foundation in a strategic bid to accelerate youth-focused human capital development across the country.

The partnership aimed to align the institutional capabilities of both entities to promote academic excellence, sports talent, and workforce readiness, according to the press statement issued yesterday.

The Fauji Foundation, one of Pakistan’s largest welfare-driven conglomerates, will support initiatives ranging from scholarships and technical training to global education exchanges and digital skill-building.

The collaboration is expected to benefit students and faculty within the Foundation’s education division, youth engaged in PMYP interventions, and affiliated staff.

“The objective is to develop globally competitive young leaders by leveraging shared resources and merit-based frameworks,” PMYP said in a statement.

Programs will include teacher training, civic education, and platforms that connect youth with the corporate sector. Stakeholders say the partnership will also support literacy, arts and culture promotion, and international academic exposure, critical components of long-term sustainable development.

The LoI was signed in the presence of senior officials from both sides, including General Muhammad Ihsan (HI-M), Director Education at Fauji Foundation, and Dr. Muhammad Ali, Deputy Secretary at PMYP.

The agreement underscored growing public-private cooperation in Pakistan’s education and youth sectors, with an emphasis on improving human capital indicators to meet national and global labour market demands.
