PKR strengthens by 2.87 paisa against USD

October 15, 2025 (MLN): The Pakistani rupee (PKR) increased by 2.87 paisa or 0.01% against the US dollar in Wednesday's interbank session to settle the trade at PKR 281.12 per USD, compared to previous closing of 281.15.
Throughout the day, the currency saw an intraday high (bid) of 281.30 and a low (ask) of 282.15.
In the open market, exchange companies quoted the dollar at 281.50 for buying and 282.20 for selling.
In comparison to major currencies, PKR deteriorated 2.29 rupees or 0.70% against the Euro, closing at 327.18 compared to the previous value of 324.90.
Against the British Pound, PKR deteriorated by 2.38 rupees or 0.64% to 375.44 compared to 373.06 a day ago.
The local unit fell 1.82 rupees or 0.52% against Swiss franc to close at 351.62.
Against the Japanese Yen, PKR's value weakened 0.98 paisa or 0.53% to close the session at 1.8586 versus 1.8488 a day ago.
Pakistani Rupee weakened 8.83 paisa or 0.22% against Chinese Yuan to close at 39.46 from 39.37.
The local currency rose by 0.96 paisa or 0.01% against Saudi Riyal to 74.96. While it rose by 0.78 paisa or 0.01% against the U.A.E Dirham to close at 76.54.
During the current fiscal year, PKR has gained against the US Dollar by 2.64 rupees or 0.94%. While it has decreased 2.57 rupees or 0.92% so far this calendar year.
In the Money Market, the benchmark 6 Month Karachi Interbank Bid and Offer rates inched up by 1bps to 10.93% and 11.18%.
