PKR strengthens 3 paisa against USD

June 10, 2025 (MLN): The Pakistani rupee (PKR) depreciated by 3.69 paisa or 0.01% against the US dollar in Tuesday's interbank session to settle the trade at PKR 282.21 per USD, compared to previous closing of 282.17.

Throughout the day, the currency saw an intraday high (bid) of 282.40 and a low (ask) of 282.20.

In the open market, exchange companies quoted the dollar at 282.50 for buying and 284.40 for selling.

In comparison to major currencies, PKR appreciated 38.12 paisa or 0.12% against the Euro, closing at 321.65 compared to the previous value of 322.03.

Against the British Pound, PKR gained by 2.32 rupees or 0.61% to 380.39 compared to 382.71 a day ago.

The local unit rose 60.43 paisa or 0.18% against Swiss franc to close at 343.49.

Against the Japanese Yen, PKR's value rose 1.80 paisa or 0.91% to close the session at 1.9508 versus 1.9688 a day ago.

Pakistani Rupee gained 1.78 paisa or 0.05% against Chinese Yuan to close at 39.27 from 39.28.

The local currency weakened by 1.18 paisa or 0.02% against Saudi Riyal to 75.25. While it fell by 1.21 paisa or 0.02% against the U.A.E Dirham to close at 76.84.

During the current fiscal year, PKR has deteriorated against the US Dollar by 3.87 rupees or 1.37%. While it has weakened 3.66 rupees or 1.30% so far this calendar year.

In the Money Market, the benchmark 6 Month Karachi Interbank Bid and Offer rates inched down by 3bps to 10.89% and 11.14%.
