PKR stays flat at 281.25 per USD

October 06, 2025 (MLN): The Pakistani rupee (PKR) strengthened by 0.88 paisa against the US dollar in Monday's interbank session to settle the trade at PKR 281.25 per USD, compared to the previous closing of 281.26.

Throughout the day, the currency saw an intraday high (bid) of 281.30 and a low (ask) of 281.25.

In the open market, exchange companies quoted the dollar at 281.50 for buying and 282.30 for selling.

In comparison to major currencies, PKR strengthened 2.25 rupees or 0.68% against the Euro, closing at 327.80 compared to the previous value of 330.05.

Against the British Pound, PKR appreciated by 1.05 rupees or 0.28% to 377.58 compared to 378.64 a day ago.

The local unit rose 91.61 paisa or 0.26% against Swiss franc to close at 351.92.

Against the Japanese Yen, PKR's value increased 3.51 paisa or 1.84% to close the session at 1.8727 versus 1.9078 a day ago.

Pakistani Rupee appreciated 0.13 paisa against Chinese Yuan to close at 39.50 from 39.51.

The local currency increased by 0.14 paisa or 0.00% against Saudi Riyal to 74.99. While it increased by 0.45 paisa or 0.01% against the U.A.E Dirham to close at 76.57.

During the current fiscal year, PKR has strengthened against the US Dollar by 2.51 rupees or 0.89%. It has depreciated 2.70 rupees or 0.96% so far this calendar year.

In the Money Market, the benchmark 6 Month Karachi Interbank Bid and Offer rates inched up by 1bps to 10.92% and 11.17%.
