PKR remains flat against USD

April 13, 2026 (MLN): The Pakistani rupee (PKR) strengthened by 0.89 paisa against the US dollar in Monday's interbank session to settle the trade at PKR 279 per USD, compared to previous closing of 279.01.

Throughout the day, the currency saw an intraday high (bid) of 279.15 and a low (ask) of 279.

In the open market, exchange companies quoted the dollar at 279.5for buying and 280.05 for selling.

In comparison to major currencies, PKR weakened 36.63 paisa or 0.11% against the Euro, closing at 326.22 compared to the previous value of 325.86.

Against the British Pound, PKR decreased by 39.26 paisa or 0.10% to 374.60 compared to 374.21 a day ago.

The local unit fell 12.27 paisa or 0.03% against Swiss franc to close at 353.06.

Against the Japanese Yen, PKR's value gained 0.34 paisa or 0.19% to close the session at 1.7476 versus 1.7510 a day ago.

Pakistani Rupee fell 0.59 paisa or 0.01% against Chinese Yuan to close at 40.83 from 40.82.

The local currency strengthened by 0.24 paisa against Saudi Riyal to 74.34. While it weakened by 0.79 paisa or 0.01% against the U.A.E Dirham to close at 75.97.

During the current fiscal year, PKR has appreciated against the US Dollar by 4.76 rupees or 1.71%. While it has increased 1.12 rupees or 0.40% so far this calendar year.

In the Money Market, the benchmark 6 Month Karachi Interbank Bid and Offer rates inched up by 3bps to 11.34% and 11.59%.
