PKR remains flat against USD

March 31, 2026 (MLN): The Pakistani rupee (PKR) strengthened by 0.83 paisa against the US dollar in Tuesday's interbank session to settle the trade at PKR 279.15 per USD, compared to previous closing of 279.16.
Throughout the day, the currency saw an intraday high (bid) of 279.20 and a low (ask) of 279.15.
In the open market, exchange companies quoted the dollar at 279 for buying and 280.2 for selling.
In comparison to major currencies, PKR rose 73.53 paisa or 0.23% against the Euro, closing at 320.13 compared to the previous value of 320.87.
Against the British Pound, PKR gained by 89.02 paisa or 0.24% to 368.75 compared to 369.64 a day ago.
The local unit appreciated 3.21 paisa against Swiss franc to close at 348.99.
Against the Japanese Yen, PKR's value decreased 0.18 paisa or 0.10% to close the session at 1.7489 versus 1.7471 a day ago.
Pakistani Rupee deteriorated 2.57 paisa or 0.06% against Chinese Yuan to close at 40.41 from 40.39.
The local currency weakened by 0.77 paisa against Saudi Riyal to 74.40. While it rose by 0.22 paisa against the U.A.E Dirham to close at 76.01.
During the current fiscal year, PKR has appreciated against the US Dollar by 4.61 rupees or 1.65%. While it has rose 96.98 paisa or 0.35% so far this calendar year.
In the Money Market, the benchmark 6 Month Karachi Interbank Bid and Offer rates inched up by 2bps to 11.34% and 11.59%.
