PKR remains flat against USD

February 17, 2026 (MLN): The Pakistani rupee (PKR) rose by 1.18 paisa against the US dollar in Tuesday's interbank session to settle the trade at PKR 279.60 per USD, compared to previous closing of 279.61.

Throughout the day, the currency saw an intraday high (bid) of 279.60 and a low (ask) of 279.60.

In the open market, exchange companies quoted the dollar at 279.8 for buying and 280.65 for selling.

In comparison to major currencies, PKR rose 1.03 rupees or 0.31% against the Euro, closing at 330.81 compared to the previous value of 331.85.

Against the British Pound, PKR increased by 2.41 rupees or 0.63% to 379.36 compared to 381.77 a day ago.

The local unit strengthened 1.08 rupees or 0.30% against Swiss franc to close at 362.93.

Against the Japanese Yen, PKR's value decreased 0.23 paisa or 0.13% to close the session at 1.8263 versus 1.8240 a day ago.

Pakistani Rupee appreciated 0.17 paisa or 0.00% against Chinese Yuan to close at 40.47 from 40.47.

The local currency strengthened by 0.52 paisa or 0.01% against Saudi Riyal to 74.55. While it increased by 0.42 paisa or 0.01% against the U.A.E Dirham to close at 76.12.

During the current fiscal year, PKR has strengthened against the US Dollar by 4.16 rupees or 1.49%. While it has rose 52.16 paisa or 0.19% so far this calendar year.

In the Money Market, the benchmark 6 Month Karachi Interbank Bid and Offer rates unchanged by 0bps to 10.31% and 10.56%.
