PKR loses 24 paisa against USD

June 17, 2025 (MLN): The Pakistani rupee (PKR) fell by 24.22 paisa or 0.09% against the US dollar in Tuesday's interbank session to settle the trade at PKR 283.41 per USD, compared to previous closing of 283.17.

Throughout the day, the currency saw an intraday high (bid) of 283.5 and a low (ask) of 285.35.

In the open market, exchange companies quoted the dollar at 282.50 for buying and 285.15 for selling.

In comparison to major currencies, PKR gained 37.14 paisa or 0.11% against the Euro, closing at 327.49 compared to the previous value of 327.86.

Against the British Pound, PKR gained by 20.94 paisa or 0.05% to 384.40 compared to 384.60 a day ago.

The local unit depreciated 21.24 paisa or 0.06% against Swiss franc to close at 348.71.

Against the Japanese Yen, PKR's value strengthened 0.27 paisa or 0.14% to close the session at 1.9599 versus 1.9626 a day ago.

Pakistani Rupee fell 2.41 paisa or 0.06% against Chinese Yuan to close at 39.46 from 39.44.

The local currency decreased by 8.67 paisa or 0.11% against Saudi Riyal to 75.54. While it fell by 6.08 paisa or 0.08% against the U.A.E Dirham to close at 77.17.

During the current fiscal year, PKR has weakened against the US Dollar by 5.07 rupees or 1.79%. While it has weakened 4.86 rupees or 1.72% so far this calendar year.

In the Money Market, the benchmark 6 Month Karachi Interbank Bid and Offer rates increased by 8bps to 10.92% and 11.17%.
