PKR increases by 3 paisa against USD

August 27, 2025 (MLN): The Pakistani rupee (PKR) gained by 3.17 paisa against the US dollar in Wednesday's interbank session to settle the trade at PKR 281.83 per USD, compared to previous closing of 281.86.

Throughout the day, the currency saw an intraday high (bid) of 282.5 and a low (ask) of 283.9.

In the open market, exchange companies quoted the dollar at 283.10 for buying and 283.90 for selling.

In comparison to major currencies, PKR gained 60.05 paisa or 0.18% against the Euro, closing at 326.92 compared to the previous value of 327.52.

Against the British Pound, PKR appreciated by 31.04 paisa or 0.08% to 379.00 compared to 379.31 a day ago.

The local unit rose 14.78 paisa or 0.04% against Swiss franc to close at 349.58.

Against the Japanese Yen, PKR's value gained 0.22 paisa or 0.12% to close the session at 1.9063 versus 1.9085 a day ago.

Pakistani Rupee appreciated 0.09 paisa or 0.00% against Chinese Yuan to close at 39.36 from 39.36.

The local currency rose by 0.95 paisa or 0.01% against Saudi Riyal to 75.11. While it increased by 0.65 paisa or 0.01% against the U.A.E Dirham to close at 76.73.

During the current fiscal year, PKR has gained against the US Dollar by 1.94 rupees or 0.69%. While it has decreased 3.28 rupees or 1.16% so far this calendar year.

In the Money Market, the benchmark 6 Month Karachi Interbank Bid and Offer rates inched down by 1bps to 10.78% and 11.03%.
