PKR inches up, closes at 280.78 against USD

November 11, 2025 (MLN): The Pakistani rupee (PKR) strengthened by 3.11 paisa against the US dollar in Tuesday's interbank session to settle the trade at PKR 280.78 per USD, compared to previous closing of 280.81.

Throughout the day, the currency saw an intraday high (bid) of 281.50 and a low (ask) of 281.85.

In the open market, exchange companies quoted the dollar at 281.00 for buying and 281.85 for selling.

In comparison to major currencies, PKR gained 30.28 paisa or 0.09% against the Euro, closing at 324.63 compared to the previous value of 324.94.

Against the British Pound, PKR increased by 85.52 paisa or 0.23% to 368.67 compared to 369.53 a day ago.

The local unit deteriorated 85.03 paisa or 0.24% against Swiss franc to close at 349.38.

Against the Japanese Yen, PKR's value appreciated 0.23 paisa or 0.13% to close the session at 1.8205 versus 1.8228 a day ago.

Pakistani Rupee gained 2.43 paisa or 0.06% against Chinese Yuan to close at 39.43 from 39.45.

The local currency appreciated by 0.83 paisa or 0.01% against Saudi Riyal to 74.86. While it rose by 0.85 paisa or 0.01% against the U.A.E Dirham to close at 76.44.

During the current fiscal year, PKR has appreciated against the US Dollar by 2.99 rupees or 1.06%. While it has decreased 2.23 rupees or 0.79% so far this calendar year.

In the Money Market, the benchmark 6 Month Karachi Interbank Bid and Offer rates inched up by 1bps to 10.94% and 11.19%.
