PKR inches up against USD

February 10, 2026 (MLN): The Pakistani rupee (PKR) increased by 2.91 paisa against the US dollar in Tuesday's interbank session to settle the trade at PKR 279.67 per USD, compared to previous closing of 279.70.

Throughout the day, the currency saw an intraday high (bid) of 280.40 and a low (ask) of 280.75.

In the open market, exchange companies quoted the dollar at 280.30 for buying and 280.75 for selling.

In comparison to major currencies, PKR decreased 1.27 rupees or 0.38% against the Euro, closing at 333.02 compared to the previous value of 331.75.

Against the British Pound, PKR decreased by 1.62 rupees or 0.43% to 382.31 compared to 380.69 a day ago.

The local unit weakened 2.58 rupees or 0.71% against Swiss franc to close at 364.51.

Against the Japanese Yen, PKR's value deteriorated 1.20 paisa or 0.67% to close the session at 1.7983 versus 1.7863 a day ago.

Pakistani Rupee depreciated 8.83 paisa or 0.22% against Chinese Yuan to close at 40.46 from 40.37.

The local currency rose by 0.78 paisa or 0.01% against Saudi Riyal to 74.57. While it appreciated by 0.79 paisa or 0.01% against the U.A.E Dirham to close at 76.14.

During the current fiscal year, PKR has increased against the US Dollar by 4.09 rupees or 1.46%. While it has appreciated 45.00 paisa or 0.16% so far this calendar year.

In the Money Market, the benchmark 6 Month Karachi Interbank Bid and Offer rates inched up by 1bps to 10.28% and 10.53%.
