PKR falls 25 paisa per USD

June 11, 2025 (MLN): The Pakistani rupee (PKR) fell by 25.89 paisa or 0.09% against the US dollar in Wednesday's interbank session to settle the trade at PKR 282.47 per USD, compared to previous closing of 282.21.

Throughout the day, the currency saw an intraday high (bid) of 282.15 and a low (ask) of 284.65.

In the open market, exchange companies quoted the dollar at 282.50 for buying and 284.40 for selling.

In comparison to major currencies, PKR depreciated 1.00 rupees or 0.31% against the Euro, closing at 322.65 compared to the previous value of 321.65.

Against the British Pound, PKR deteriorated by 65.97 paisa or 0.17% to 381.05 compared to 380.39 a day ago.

The local unit deteriorated 0.16 paisa or 0.00% against Swiss franc to close at 343.49.

Against the Japanese Yen, PKR's value appreciated 0.40 paisa or 0.21% to close the session at 1.9468 versus 1.9508 a day ago.

Pakistani Rupee decreased 4.37 paisa or 0.11% against Chinese Yuan to close at 39.31 from 39.27.

The local currency decreased by 6.71 paisa or 0.09% against Saudi Riyal to 75.31. While it fell by 7.36 paisa or 0.10% against the U.A.E Dirham to close at 76.91.

During the current fiscal year, PKR has fell against the US Dollar by 4.13 rupees or 1.46%. While it has weakened 3.92 rupees or 1.39% so far this calendar year.

In the Money Market, the benchmark 6 Month Karachi Interbank Bid and Offer rates inched up by 1bps to 10.90% and 11.15%.
