PKR decreases by 16 paisa against USD

June 23, 2025 (MLN): The Pakistani rupee (PKR) fell by 16.56 paisa or 0.06% against the US dollar in Monday's interbank session to settle the trade at PKR 283.87 per USD, compared to previous closing of 283.70.

Throughout the day, the currency saw an intraday high (bid) of 284 and a low (ask) of 285.9.

In the open market, exchange companies quoted the dollar at 283.50 for buying and 285.75 for selling.

In comparison to major currencies, PKR appreciated 27.77 paisa or 0.09% against the Euro, closing at 326.41 compared to the previous value of 326.69.

Against the British Pound, PKR rose by 85.56 paisa or 0.22% to 381.45 compared to 382.31 a day ago.

The local unit strengthened 1.00 paisa or 0.00% against Swiss franc to close at 347.52.

Against the Japanese Yen, PKR's value increased 2.57 paisa or 1.32% to close the session at 1.9258 versus 1.9515 a day ago.

Pakistani Rupee deteriorated 1.43 paisa or 0.04% against Chinese Yuan to close at 39.51 from 39.49.

The local currency deteriorated by 6.23 paisa or 0.08% against Saudi Riyal to 75.66. While it decreased by 4.72 paisa or 0.06% against the U.A.E Dirham to close at 77.30.

During the current fiscal year, PKR has weakened against the US Dollar by 5.53 rupees or 1.95%. While it has depreciated 5.32 rupees or 1.87% so far this calendar year.

In the Money Market, the benchmark 6 Month Karachi Interbank Bid and Offer rates inched down by 1bps to 10.99% and 11.24%.
