PKR Closes Flat at 281.43

September 24, 2025 (MLN): The Pakistani rupee (PKR) weakened by 0.22 paisa or 0.00% against the US dollar in Wednesday's interbank session to settle the trade at PKR 281.43 per USD, compared to previous closing of 281.42.

Throughout the day, the currency saw an intraday high (bid) of 281.40 and a low (ask) of 281.45.

In the open market, exchange companies quoted the dollar at 281.30 for buying and 282.50 for selling.

In comparison to major currencies, PKR increased 8.19 paisa or 0.02% against the Euro, closing at 331.63 compared to the previous value of 331.71.

Against the British Pound, PKR gained by 1.04 rupees or 0.27% to 379.45 compared to 380.48 a day ago.

The local unit weakened 0.27 paisa or 0.00% against Swiss franc to close at 354.75.

Against the Japanese Yen, PKR's value rose 0.34 paisa or 0.18% to close the session at 1.9011 versus 1.9045 a day ago.

Pakistani Rupee gained 3.25 paisa or 0.08% against Chinese Yuan to close at 39.53 from 39.56.

The local currency gained by 0.14 paisa or 0.00% against Saudi Riyal to 75.03. While it decreased by 0.06 paisa or 0.00% against the U.A.E Dirham to close at 76.62.

During the current fiscal year, PKR has gained against the US Dollar by 2.34 rupees or 0.83%. While it has depreciated 2.88 rupees or 1.02% so far this calendar year.

In the Money Market, the benchmark 6 Month Karachi Interbank Bid and Offer rates unchanged by 0bps to 10.80% and 11.05%.
