OMC sales rise 6% YoY in December 2025

January 02, 2026 (MLN): Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) in Pakistan recorded a 6% YoY growth in sales volumes during December 2025, with total offtake reaching 1.35 million tons (mt) compared to 1.28mt in December 2024.

However, the sector witnessed a 5% monthly contraction from November's 1.42mt, according to Arif Habib Limited.

The December performance reflects mixed momentum in the downstream oil sector, with cumulative first-half fiscal year 2026 (1HFY26) volumes reaching 8.16mt, a 2% improvement over the same period last year.

Product-wise Performance

Motor Spirit (MS) emerged as the standout performer, recording 0.63mt in December, representing an 11% YoY surge from 0.57mt in December 2024. The fuel also posted a modest 3% month-on-month increase from November's 0.61mt.

High Speed Diesel (HSD) volumes stood at 0.55mt, declining 4% compared to December 2024's 0.57mt. The product experienced a sharper 19% monthly drop from November's 0.68mt, indicating seasonal demand fluctuations.

Furnace Oil (FO) continued its volatile trajectory with 0.06mt sold in December, up 40%YoY but surging 130% MoM from November's depressed base of 0.03mt.

Company-wise Breakdown

Pakistan State Oil (PSO) maintained its market leadership with 0.53mt in December, though volumes declined 17% MoM from 0.64mt in November.

YoY performance showed a 7% contraction compared to December 2024's 0.57mt. PSO's 1HFY26 cumulative sales reached 3.45mt, down 7% from the prior year period.

Attock Petroleum Limited (APL) recorded stable volumes of 0.10mt in December, down 5% both MoM and YoY.

The company's half-year performance stood at 0.66mt,  a 5% decline compared to 1HFY25.

Wafi Energy (WAFI) also posted 0.10mt in sales for December, declining 7% from November's 0.11mt but growing 10% YoY from December 2024's 0.09mt.  

The company's cumulative 1HFY26 volumes of 0.67mt represented a strong 15% growth compared to the previous year.

HASCOL demonstrated significant recovery momentum with December sales of 0.06mt, m a 40% MoM surge from November's 0.03mt and a 9% YoY increase.

The company's half-year cumulative sales of 0.25mt remained flat compared to 1HFY25.
