OGRA trims HSD crack spread to $38 per barrel

October 20, 2026 (MLN): The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has lowered the crack spread on high-speed diesel (HSD) to US$38 per barrel from US$41.89 per barrel, according to its daily pricing sheet uploaded on the regulator’s website.

Topline Securities said in a research alert on Tuesday that the earlier spread of US$41.89 per barrel had been imposed for an initial two months and was due to lapse on Oct 20, 2026.

The brokerage said it also confirmed the revision with a refinery company, which said the new formula has been agreed between refineries and companies and will stay in place for 60-90 days.

Furthermore, it noted that further clarity is awaited and that it will reconfirm the development with other refineries and OGRA before issuing an update.
