OGDC brings new Sindh gas well online, adds 10.5 MMSCFD output

June 30, 2026 (MLN): Oil & Gas Development Company Limited (PSX: OGDC) has successfully tested a new development well in Sindh that is expected to bolster Pakistan's domestic hydrocarbon supplies as the country seeks to reduce reliance on imported energy.

The state-run explorer said on Tuesday that Chak 63-05, located in the Chak 63 Development & Production Lease (D&PL) in Sanghar district, flowed 10.5 million standard cubic feet of gas per day (MMSCFD) and 600 barrels of condensate per day (BPD) during production testing through a 32/64-inch choke, with a wellhead flowing pressure of 2,580 psig.

The well was spudded on April 20, 2026, drilled to a total depth of 3,325 meters, and completed in the Massive Sand reservoir.

OGDCL said the well will be connected to the SSGC transmission network, with work underway to enable early commercial production.

The company operates the lease with a 62.5% working interest, while Government Holdings (Private) Limited (GHPL) owns 22.5% and Orient Petroleum Inc. Limited (OPL) holds the remaining 15% stake.

The additional production is expected to strengthen indigenous gas and condensate supplies, supporting Pakistan's energy security at a time of persistent supply constraints.

The development also reinforces OGDCL's efforts to sustain production and enhance long-term value for shareholders.
