New off-dock terminal commissioned at Hawksbay

June 11, 2026 (MLN): A new off-dock terminal at Hawksbay, Karachi, has been formally notified by Pakistan Customs, to be operated by International Cargo Terminals Pakistan (Pvt.) Ltd. (ICT), a subsidiary of Denmark-based Scan-Group A/S.

The facility is expected to improve cargo handling capacity, reduce port congestion, expedite customs clearance processes and contribute to greater efficiency in the movement of international trade.

The Hawksbay terminal is Scan-Group's second major logistics investment in Pakistan, following its operations at Port Qasim, bringing the Danish group's total investment in the country's logistics sector to over $30 million.

Scan-Group maintains an extensive international presence across Europe, North America and Asia, said a press release issued.

The notification was presented by Syed Shakeel Shah, Member Customs (Operations), during a ceremony hosted by the Embassy of Denmark in Islamabad on the occasion of Denmark's Constitution Day celebrations.

Federal Minister for Climate Change and Environmental Coordination Musadik Malik attended as chief guest, alongside Danish Ambassador Maja Derrous Mortensen and Chief Collector of Customs Appraisement (South) Wajid Ali.

ICT representatives acknowledged support from the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC), Federal Board of Revenue and Pakistan Customs in enabling the development of modern, technology-driven logistics infrastructure.

The continued expansion of Scan-Group's operations was cited as a reflection of growing international investor confidence in Pakistan's economic potential.
