Mr Imtiaz Haider appointed SECP Commissioner for three-year term

February 07, 2026 (MLN): The Federal Government has appointed Imtiaz Haider as Commissioner of the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) for a period of three years with immediate effect.

According to a notification issued by the Finance Division (Investment Wing), the appointment has been made under Sections 5 and 7 of the SECP Act, 1997.

His remuneration and allowances will be determined in accordance with the relevant provisions of the Act.

Imtiaz Haider brings extensive regulatory and capital market experience to the role.

He previously served as Commissioner SECP from August 2011 to August 2014.

Prior to that, he held the position of Managing Director of the Islamabad Stock Exchange (ISE) before its demutualization, playing a significant role in the development and management of the exchange during a crucial transition phase for Pakistan’s capital markets.
