Measures expand to boost Sialkot surgical sector competitiveness

April 14, 2026 (MLN): Efforts to address the pressing challenges faced by Sialkot’s surgical instruments industry gained momentum as stakeholders engaged in discussions aimed at enhancing sectoral competitiveness and long-term sustainability.

Chairman Surgical Instruments Manufacturers Association of Pakistan (SIMAP) Zeshan Tariq and Chairman of the Export Development Fund (EDF) Board, Omer Saeed, held talks in Lahore focusing on the critical issues impacting the industry, according to APP.

Both sides exchanged views on the major constraints facing the sector and examined potential avenues for support through the Export Development Fund (EDF), particularly for strategic projects and targeted initiatives.

The dialogue centered on improving competitiveness, bridging infrastructural and technological gaps, and fostering sustainable growth through collaborative efforts.
