MARI issues Letter of Award for Spinwam gas sale to Universal Gas Distribution

August 03, 2026 (MLN): Mari Energies limited (PSX:MARI), operator of the Waziristan Block, has concluded the sale process for gas from the Spinwam Gas Discovery, issuing a Letter of Award to Universal Gas Distribution Company (Pvt) Ltd for the purchase of up to 17.5 MMscfd of gas from the Discovery.

The award follows an Invitation to Bid floated on May 15, 2026, for the sale of gas from the Discovery, with Universal Gas Distribution Company emerging as the successful bidder, the company’s filing on PSX revealed today.

The parties will now proceed to secure the requisite regulatory and other approvals as laid out under the Framework for Sale of Gas to Third Parties, notified vide S.R.O. No. 11(I)/2025 dated January 7, 2025.

MariEnergies holds a 55% working interest in the Waziristan Block, alongside joint venture partners Oil and Gas Development Company Limited and Orient Petroleum Inc., holding 35% and 10% working interests, respectively.
