March 30, 2026 (MLN): In a significant boost for Pakistan’s evolving automotive landscape, Lucky Motor Corporation (LMC) has entered into an exclusive strategic partnership with Guangzhou Automobile Group Co., Ltd. (GAC Group), marked a major step toward introducing advanced new energy vehicles (NEVs) in the country.
GAC Group, a Chinese state-owned automotive giant, has
consistently maintained its position in the Fortune 500 for over a decade and
has led vehicle quality rankings in China for multiple consecutive years.
The company is widely recognized for its joint manufacturing
of global brands such as Toyota and Honda for the Chinese market, along with
its own rapidly growing portfolio of electric vehicle brands.
Under its integrated “ONE GAC” framework, the company
oversees a comprehensive ecosystem that spans mineral sourcing, battery
development, vehicle production, and recycling, according to the press release.
Its NEV brands, including Aion and Hyptec, have remained
among China’s top-selling electric vehicle marques in recent years.
Additionally, GAC is advancing future mobility solutions
such as autonomous driving systems, battery-swapping infrastructure, and
next-generation air mobility platforms like Govy.
Through this partnership, Lucky Motor Corporation aims to
introduce competitively priced, technologically advanced electric vehicles to
Pakistani consumers.
The collaboration will also focus on sustainable mobility
solutions, including battery lifecycle management and the potential rollout of
battery-swapping infrastructure across key markets.
LMC has indicated that further details regarding product
lineup, dealership expansion, and commercialization timelines will be revealed
in the coming weeks.
The agreement also strengthens LMC’s diversified
international portfolio, which already includes partnerships with leading
Korean and European automotive brands. The company operates a modern production
facility in Pakistan, where it assembles vehicles and manufactures components
under technical collaborations with global partners.
Commenting on the development, LMC Chief Executive Officer
Muhammad Faisal said the partnership reflects the company’s commitment to
bringing high-quality, innovation-driven vehicles to Pakistan, supported by a
robust after-sales network.
Chairman Muhammad Ali Tabba emphasized the strategic
importance of the alliance, highlighting its role in promoting technology
transfer, industrial growth, and a quality-focused automotive ecosystem.
Representing GAC, senior executive Wang Shunsheng expressed
confidence in LMC’s capabilities and emphasized Pakistan’s importance as a
high-potential market.
He noted that the partnership would accelerate the
introduction of advanced NEVs while delivering strong value to local consumers.
GAC’s technological edge lies in its battery innovations,
including lithium iron phosphate (LFP), nickel manganese cobalt (NMC), and
emerging solid-state batteries.
Its proprietary Magazine Battery platform is designed with
enhanced safety features, including resistance to thermal runaway even under
extreme conditions.
The company’s next-generation solid-state batteries are
expected to achieve energy densities of up to 400 Wh/kg, further improving
vehicle range and efficiency.
The collaboration signals a long-term commitment to accelerating Pakistan’s transition toward electric mobility while fostering localization, job creation, and sustainable industrial development.
