Lucky Core Industries denies reports of divesting pharma units

November 26, 2025 (MLN): Lucky Core Industries Limited (LCI) has rejected recent media reports suggesting that global pharmaceutical companies, including ICI Pakistan Ltd. (now LCI), have divested their local manufacturing operations over the past three years.

In a clarification issued to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) today, the company stated that its pharmaceutical manufacturing business continues to operate as usual and that it has not divested any of its pharma units during the last three years.

LCI emphasized that, contrary to the speculation, the company has expanded its footprint in the pharmaceutical sector through strategic acquisitions.

The most recent transaction was the asset acquisition from Pfizer Pakistan Limited and relevant Pfizer group entities, completed in September 2024.

Reaffirming its commitment to the sector, LCI said it remains focused on innovation, geographic expansion, and improving access to healthcare, underscoring that the pharmaceutical division remains a core part of its long-term strategy.
