Kohinoor Spinning Mills denies FBR shutdown reports, calls them fake

October 02, 2026 (MLN): Kohinoor Spinning Mills Limited (PSX:KOSM) has dismissed reports circulating on social media that the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has shut down its operations, calling the claims fake, baseless and misleading.

In a clarification sent to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the company said no such incident has taken place. It added that it has already implemented FBR's Invoice Integration System and is currently engaged in trading of yarn only.

The reports had claimed that the FBR shut down the company's operations as it struggled with integration.

The company said it views the spread of such false information seriously, as it may mislead investors and damage its reputation.

It reserved the right to approach the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) and take legal action under applicable laws, including the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act, 2016, against those responsible for creating or spreading the fake news.

Shareholders, investors and the public were advised not to rely on unverified information.

The company asked that any news about it, especially on social media, be verified from the Company Secretary before being shared or acted upon.

The clarification was issued under Section 96 of the Securities Act, 2015, and Clause 5.6.1 of the PSX Rule Book.
