Chairman SECP to peel back layers of SE Fruits IPO prospectus

October 19, 2026 (MLN): The Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) will conduct a comprehensive investigation into the accuracy and completeness of information provided in the prospectus of SE Fruits and Vegetable Limited’s initial public offering (IPO), Chairman Dr. Kabir Sidhu said.

The investigation will examine the preparation and approval of the prospectus, identify any lapses or negligence, and determine those responsible, the regulator said.

The roles of the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the consultant to the issue and the auditor will also be scrutinised as part of the investigation.

The SECP will additionally review its own procedures for examining IPO applications to identify gaps and improve the approval mechanism.

Dr. Kabir Sidhu said the objective was to ensure that investors receive accurate information and that the IPO process remains transparent.

He added that action would be taken against those found responsible for any lapses, while the findings of the SE Fruits IPO investigation would be made public.

The regulator said the investigation's conclusions would also help strengthen the IPO approval framework and improve investor protection.
