July 02, 2026 (MLN): K-Solar (Private) Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary
of K-Electric's investment arm KE Ventures Company (Pvt) Limited, has signed a
memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Mingyang Smart Energy Group Limited.
Mingyang Smart Energy Group Limited , is one of the world's largest wind
turbine manufacturers and a major global supplier of utility-scale and
industrial Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), according to a press release issued.
The Mou sighned is to bring Mingyang's solutions to Pakistan's local
industry.
Under the agreement, K-Solar and Mingyang will partner to market, supply
and finance wind power projects and BESS for grids as well as commercial and
industrial sectors in Pakistan, while also laying the groundwork for a BESS
assembly plant in the country.
The two companies are expected to follow up the MoU with a formal
framework agreement in the coming weeks.
K-Solar Chairman Muhammad Aamir Ghaziani highlighted that wind power had
been gaining significant attention in Pakistan's energy transformation,
offering a competitive, low levelised tariff that made it an attractive
complement to the country's existing generation mix.
He emphasized that as Pakistan moved toward a more diversified and
resilient energy system, the scope for BESS also remained immense in supporting
grid stability, managing intermittency and unlocking the full value of
renewable generation.
K-Solar CEO Hashim Raza noted that Pakistan's energy transition depended
on bringing together world-class technology with local financing and execution.
He pointed out that both wind power and battery storage had seen a
decline in pricing in recent years, driving a new wave of renewable energy
adoption globally, and stated that the K-Solar-Mingyang partnership was
well-placed to capitalise on this trend and capture a sizable share of
Pakistan's growing wind and energy storage markets.
Mingyang MEA General Manager Miao Desheng said the company, an integrated
energy solutions provider, was pleased to deepen its presence in Pakistan
through the collaboration with K-Solar.
He added that Pakistan represented a significant growth market for wind
and storage solutions, and that partnering with K-Solar gave the company a
strong local platform to deliver on this opportunity.
He further stated that Mingyang looked forward to working together, from
supplying turbines, BESS technology and other associated electrical equipment
and software, to facilitating local assembly capabilities to further boost
Pakistan's transition to clean and affordable energy.
