KSA extends $3bn deposit with Pakistan for another year

December 04, 2025 (MLN): The Saudi Fund for Development (SFD), representing the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, has extended the term of a $3 billion deposit with the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) for an additional year.

The deposit, originally set to mature on December 8, 2025, was placed on behalf of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, said a press release issued.

This extension emphasizes Saudi Arabia’s continued support for Pakistan’s economy, helping to strengthen the country’s foreign exchange reserves and contributing to its overall economic growth and development.

The $3bn deposit was initially placed with the SBP in 2021 and has been subsequently rolled over since then.
