August 22, 2025 (MLN): In response to the ongoing rain emergency and under directives from the Mayor of Karachi, the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) has mobilized its Anti-Encroachment Department to support citywide emergency operations.
A circular issued by the Senior Director of Anti-Encroachment outlines the deployment of designated officials across all major districts, including Central, South, East, Korangi, Malir, Keamari, and West.
These officers are tasked with assisting in field operations, emergency response, and coordination efforts to mitigate urban flooding and ensure public safety.
District-Wise Deployment:
Central District: Officers stationed in New Karachi, Gulberg, North Nazimabad, and Nazimabad.
South District: Coverage includes Garden, Saddar, Eidgah, and Civil Lines.
East District: Teams assigned to Gulshan, Jauhar, and Jamshed Town.
Korangi District: Personnel deployed in Model Zone, Shah Faisal, Korangi, and Landhi.
Malir, Keamari, and West: Individual officers designated for emergency readiness.
All listed staff have been instructed to remain on high alert, report to control rooms or assigned locations, and follow directives from the Rain Emergency Cell and supervising officers.
