Ishaq Dar to hold bilateral meetings with SCO counterparts in Tajikistan

October 19, 2026 (MLN): Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar departed for Dushanbe, Tajikistan, to lead Pakistan’s delegation to the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Council of Heads of Government (CHG) meeting scheduled for October 19–20, 2026.

According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ishaq Dar is visiting Tajikistan at the invitation of Prime Minister Qohir Rasulzoda.

The meeting will be attended by the prime ministers of Belarus, China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan, along with Iran’s Vice President and India’s External Affairs Minister, who will represent their respective countries.

The CHG is the SCO’s second-highest decision-making body and provides guidance on economic, financial, trade, connectivity, commerce, socioeconomic cooperation and budgetary matters of the organization.

The meeting will also adopt a joint communiqué, statements and important decisions.

During his visit, Ishaq Dar will call on Tajikistan’s President and Prime Minister and hold bilateral meetings with his counterparts from SCO member states on the sidelines of the CHG meeting.
