Iranian president arrives in Pakistan today

June 23, 2026 (MLN): Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian is set to undertake a state visit to Pakistan today at the invitation of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

The Iranian president will be accompanied by a high-level delegation comprising ministers and other senior officials. During his visit, he is scheduled to meet President Asif Ali Zardari and hold talks with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

Chairman Senate Yousuf Raza Gillani, Speaker National Assembly Ayaz Sadiq, and Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar will also call on the Iranian president, as reported by Radio Pakistan.

This will be President Pezeshkian’s second visit to Pakistan since assuming office as Iran’s president.

During the visit, Pakistan and Iran will review the entire scope of their bilateral relationship and discuss opportunities to enhance cooperation in areas including trade, energy, border security, people-to-people contacts, and regional connectivity.

The two sides are also expected to exchange views on ongoing diplomatic engagements following the signing of the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding, as well as regional and international issues of mutual interest.

The visit highlights the commitment of both countries to strengthening their longstanding ties and advancing shared goals of peace, stability, and sustainable development in the region.
