February 06, 2026 (MLN): Khurram Bashir, a seasoned investment professional with more than two decades of experience spanning asset management and FMCG, has joined Intermarket Securities as Deputy Chief Executive Officer.
Khurram Bashir began his career in 2006 as a buy-side analyst at KASB Funds, an affiliate of BlackRock Inc., before moving into fund management.
During this phase, he managed the KASB Stock Market Fund and the KASB Balanced Fund, building a strong track record in equity and blended strategies.
In 2011, he transitioned to the corporate sector, joining Nestlé Pakistan Ltd. as Treasury Manager.
In this role, Bashir oversaw investments, debt, risk, and cash management, while also playing a key role in integrating Nestlé Pakistan’s treasury operations with the company’s regional treasury framework.
He later served as Zone Controller at Nestlé Pakistan, further deepening his expertise in financial planning, budgeting, and controls.
Before joining Intermarket Securities, Bashir led the Investment Advisory function at MCB Funds, where he managed portfolios worth nearly $500 million.
His core responsibility included overseeing a leading life insurance portfolio, which consistently outperformed peers and benchmarks across equity, hybrid, and fixed-income asset classes.
Between 2015 and 2025, life insurance hybrid portfolios under his management delivered standout performance, surpassing benchmarks and peers in both conventional and Shariah-compliant categories.
Bashir holds an MSc in Economics and Finance from the International Islamic University, Islamabad.
His appointment came as Intermarket Securities looks to strengthen its leadership depth and expand its investment and advisory capabilities amid evolving market dynamics.
