Ignite unveils AI Wrapper competition 2025 with Rs8.75m prize to Power Digital Pakistan

September 26, 2025 (MLN): Ignite National Technology Fund, operating under the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication, has officially introduced the AI Wrapper Competition 2025, a landmark national initiative aimed at inspiring youth, professionals, startups and researchers to leverage artificial intelligence (AI) in solving Pakistan’s real-world challenges.

The competition will be held across five major cities Karachi, Lahore, Quetta, Peshawar, and Islamabad with the grand finale taking place in the federal capital. With a prize pool of Rs. 8.75m, it stands among the most significant technology contests in Pakistan’s history.

The initiative focuses on five critical domains of national importance: education, health, governance, financial inclusion and climate change.

By addressing these areas, Ignite aims to position Pakistan as a global contributor to AI innovation while empowering local talent to create scalable solutions for both domestic and international markets.

Speaking at the launch, Federal Minister for IT and Telecom, Ms. Shaza Fatima Khawaja, highlighted the government’s vision:

“The AI Wrapper Competition 2025 shows our strong commitment to harnessing technology for inclusive growth, social impact and economic progress.

Under the vision of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for a Digital Nation Pakistan, we are building platforms that not only empower our youth but also highlight Pakistan’s innovation potential on the global stage.”

In addition to financial rewards, participants will gain expert mentorship, access to industry networks, and pathways to represent Pakistan in international AI competitions.

The program is designed to help innovators transform ideas into market ready AI solutions, boosting Pakistan’s journey toward becoming a leading digital economy.

Registrations for the AI Wrapper Competition 2025 are now open at ignitecode.org.pk/aiwrapper. The deadline for entries is October 10, 2025.

Ignite describes the competition as more than just a contest it is a national movement to harness AI for social impact, economic growth, and digital transformation.

By engaging students, startups and researchers nationwide, the initiative is set to play a pivotal role in strengthening Pakistan’s standing as a regional technology hub and shaping the future of Digital Nation Pakistan.
