November 05, 2026 (MLN): The government is working to remove bottlenecks and help small and medium enterprises (SMEs) access finance, with a financing facility prepared to support the long-term growth of exports.
Under the facility, exporters can obtain loans to buy machinery and equipment at an interest rate of 2% for the first two years and 5% for the following eight years, said a press release issued.
Minister of State for Finance Bilal Azhar Kayani said this while addressing a conference organised by the Sustainable Development Policy Institute (SDPI) in Islamabad.
He added that an Export Facilitation Scheme (EFS) is also in place, allowing exporters to import inputs duty-free.
Bilal Kayani stressed the need for sustainable and inclusive economic growth, saying that boosting exports is essential to achieve this goal and avoid boom-and-bust cycles.
