Govt aims for Rs350-400bn in Ijara Sukuk auction

October 26, 2026 (MLN): The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has invited Islamic banks and Islamic banking branches
to an auction for the outright purchase of GoP Ijara Sukuk by the government on
a deferred payment (Bai Muajjal) basis, with a target of Rs350-400bn for a
three-year tenor.
The competitive auction will be held
on October 27, while the non-competitive auction takes place today, October 26.
According to the tender notice issued
by the SBP’s Domestic Markets & Monetary Management Department, the sukuk
will be delivered on October 28 and will mature on October 28, 2029. The GIS
issue carries the code PK05S2910268.
Tenders will be received up to 1200
hours on the auction date, and the timing of their opening will be communicated
through email. Results will be communicated on the auction date itself.
The notice said the auction falls
under the provisions of SBP-DMMD Circular No. 18 dated October 22, 2015.
It added that working arrangements and
bid submission details for the auction date will be shared with all Islamic
banking institutions through a separate email, and that bids can be rejected
without assigning any reason.
