Govt steps up steel sector revival

August 6, 2025 (MLN): The government has accelerated efforts
to revive Pakistan’s steel sector and is fully committed to facilitate
investors by providing all necessary support to encourage both foreign and
local investment.
In a recent meeting, Special Assistant to the
Prime Minister (SAPM) on Industries and Production, Mr. Haroon Akhtar Khan, who
met with Mr. M. Ashraf Qazi, Chairman of Siana Group USA and National Steel
Complex Limited discussed mutual business cooperation, export potential of iron
ore, and investment opportunities in the country’s iron and steel industry.
Mr khan said “Investment in the steel sector is vital for
Pakistan’s industrial development,” adding that the government will provide
full support to both local and international investors.
He further emphasized that Pakistan offers immense
opportunities in the iron and steel sector, and that reviving this critical
industry remains a top priority for the current administration.
