Govt seeks OICCI input for pro-growth budget

April 20, 2026 (MLN): The government has reaffirmed its commitment to an inclusive and consultative approach in preparing the Federal Budget 2026–27, engaging foreign investors to gather input on economic priorities, tax policy, and measures to boost investment and growth.

Minister of State for Finance Bilal Azhar Kayani visited the Overseas Investors Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OICCI) in Karachi, where he met with its leadership and members.

Discussions focused on the economic outlook, improving the business climate, and broadening the tax base. OICCI representatives shared proposals reflecting the concerns of foreign investors, particularly on ease of doing business and sustainable growth, according to a press release issued.

Bilal Kayani appreciated the input and assured participants their recommendations would be considered in the budget formulation process, emphasizing continued stakeholder engagement.
