Govt raises petrol price by Rs1.54, diesel by Rs2.16 per litre

October 26, 2026 (MLN): The government has raised the ex-depot price of High Speed Diesel (HSD) by Rs2.16 per litre to Rs395.82 and that of Motor Spirit (MS) by Rs1.54 per litre to Rs379.25, effective 27 October 2026.

The Petroleum Division of the Ministry of Energy said in a press release on Monday that the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) revised the prices under the petroleum pricing mechanism issued by the federal government.

The change was necessitated by global events, including movements in Platts rates, premiums and incidentals, it added.

HSD was previously priced at Rs393.66 per litre, effective 24 October 2026, meaning the revision amounts to an increase of 0.55.

MS was previously priced at Rs377.71 per litre, so the new price reflects a rise of 0.41%.
