Govt raises HSD price by Rs5.71, cuts petrol by Rs0.35

July 21, 2026 (MLN): The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has revised the ex-depot prices of High Speed Diesel (HSD) and Motor Spirit (MS) for July 21, 2026, under the revised petroleum pricing mechanism issued by the federal government.

With the revision, the price of HSD has been raised to Rs360.06 per litre from Rs354.35, while MS has been reduced marginally to Rs315.80 per litre from Rs316.15, a decrease of 35 paisa.

The change comes days after the government had increased the price of petrol by Rs5.44 per litre and that of HSD by Rs31.05 per litre for the period from July 18 to 20, under the new daily pricing framework that allows OGRA to determine petroleum prices in line with international market trends.

Under this mechanism, prices are calculated using the seven-working-day average of Platts benchmark rate.
