Pakistan gears up to forge youth into global workforce

April 7, 2026 (MLN): The government has intensified its focus on empowering young Pakistanis, describing them as the “future of the nation,” and is pushing to accelerate ongoing initiatives that provide greater opportunities in employment, education, and technical training.

Authorities said these efforts aim to develop the country’s youth into a highly skilled and competitive workforce, capable of meeting global market demands and contributing meaningfully to Pakistan’s economic growth.

These plans were discussed in a meeting between Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan, Chairman of the Prime Minister Youth Programme, according to APP.

During the session, Rana Mashhood Khan briefed the prime minister on the progress of multiple projects under the programme, including skill development schemes, job creation initiatives, and youth empowerment projects, stressing the government’s commitment to equipping young Pakistanis with the tools needed to succeed both nationally and internationally.
