February 19, 2026 (MLN): The government has declared that electricity and gas supplies will remain uninterrupted across the country during Sehri and Iftar timings throughout the holy month of Ramazan.

The declaration was made by Minister for Power Sardar Awais Ahmad Khan Leghari and Minister for Petroleum Ali Pervaiz Malik during a press conference in Islamabad.

The ministers stated that the decision was taken under the special instructions of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to ensure convenience for people across the country.

Minister Leghari explained that the Power Division and Petroleum Division, after a detailed review of the situation, have finalized arrangements to ensure no power outages occur during Sehri and Iftar hours.

He added that even in high-loss or technically sensitive areas, electricity supply will remain uninterrupted. In case of any major technical fault, immediate action will be taken to restore supply and minimize inconvenience.

To monitor electricity supply effectively, a special control room has been established to oversee all electricity feeders nationwide.

Minister Leghari advised consumers to report any electricity-related issues via helpline 118, ensuring complaints are addressed promptly.

On gas supply, Minister Ali Pervaiz Malik said that the government, in consultation with gas pipeline companies, has made full arrangements to maintain supply at maximum pressure from 3:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.

Additional gas volumes have also been arranged, applying lessons learned from the previous winter to enhance supply reliability.

Dedicated monitoring control rooms have been established at the head offices of gas distribution companies, while regional offices have been instructed to strictly monitor tail-end areas to ensure uninterrupted gas supply.

Consumers can lodge complaints on helpline 1199 in case of any gas-related issues.

The government’s coordinated efforts aim to guarantee that citizens experience a smooth and uninterrupted Sehri and Iftar during Ramazan, showing its commitment to providing reliable electricity and gas services even in technically challenging areas.
