Govt disburses 89% funds under Ramzan Relief Package 2026

March 19, 2026 (MLN): The government has disbursed payments to 89% of beneficiaries under the Prime Minister’s Ramzan Relief Package 2026, which reflects major progress in the delivery of financial assistance to deserving citizens across the country.

Chairing a review meeting in Islamabad, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif commended relevant institutions for ensuring transparent and efficient distribution of funds.

He described Social Protection Wallets as a significant milestone, highlighting their role in promoting financial technology and transparency in Pakistan, according to a press release issued.

The meeting was informed that 1,955,620 digital transactions have so far been completed under the relief package.

A comprehensive awareness campaign has also been carried out through print, electronic, and social media, ensuring beneficiaries receive timely information.

In addition, 1.7 million calls have been recorded on the 9999 helpline, while 2.7 million SMS messages have been sent regarding the programme.

The prime minister directed that all payments under the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) be made through Social Protection Wallets to further enhance transparency and efficiency.

The briefing further highlighted that the initiative has significantly helped reduce the gender gap in access to digital financial systems.

The government reaffirmed its commitment to inclusive and transparent social protection, with instructions issued to ensure timely payments to all remaining beneficiaries.
