Govt cuts petrol price by Rs2.20/litre, diesel by Rs1.50

August 07, 2026 (MLN): The government has reduced the price of petrol by Rs2.20 per litre and High-Speed Diesel (HSD) by Rs1.50 per litre, effective August 08, 2026.

According to a notification issued by the Ministry of Energy (Petroleum Division), the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) revised the ex-depot prices of petroleum products based on the prevailing petroleum pricing mechanism issued by the federal government.

Under the prevailing mechanism, OGRA computes and notifies petroleum prices on a daily basis.
