Government launches tree plantation campaign at Lok Virsa

August 28, 2025 (MLN): The government has launched a tree plantation campaign at Lok Virsa with the planting of a sapling to formally begin the drive.

Federal Minister for National Heritage and Culture Division Aurangzeb Khan Khichi inaugurated the campaign, accompanied by Parliamentary Secretary for National Heritage and Culture Ms. Farah Naz Akbar, Member of the National Assembly Nuzhat Sadiq, and Secretary IPC Mohyuddin Ahmed Wani.

Workers of Lok Virsa and a large number of female students actively took part in the activity, planting trees across the premises.

The Minister highlighted the significance of collective efforts in addressing climate change and ensuring a sustainable environment for future generations while speaking at the ceremony.

He said that institutions of culture and heritage not only protect traditions but also have a role in fostering environmental responsibility.

He appreciated the participation of students and workers, noting that their involvement reflected a shared commitment to cultural preservation and environmental sustainability.
