Federal budget for FY26 to be presented today

June 10, 2025 (MLN): The Federal Budget for the next fiscal year will be presented in the National Assembly today, June 10, 2025.

Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb will present the budget, after which he will submit the Finance Bill 2025 containing the Annual Budget Statement before the Senate.

The Annual Plan Coordination Committee (APCC) has approved a total budget outlay expected to be Rs17.8 trillion for FY26, slightly lower than Rs18tr in FY25.

The Ministry of Planning has set a GDP growth target of 4.2% for FY26, compared to an expected 2.7% in FY25.

As per the media reports, sector-wise growth projections include 4.4% for manufacturing, 3.8% for construction, 4.5% for agriculture, and 4% for services.

The FBR tax collection target is expected at Rs14.1tr, while non-tax revenue is projected at Rs3.9tr comprising Rs2.3tr from State Bank profits and Rs1.5tr from the Petroleum Development Levy (PDL).

The budget deficit is projected at around 8% of GDP, with a primary surplus target of 0.4% of GDP.
