Federal Minister calls for fair distribution of Balochistan development funds

August 05, 2026 (MLN): Balanced development in Balochistan hinges on need-based planning rather than political considerations, Federal Minister Jam Kamal Khan has said, calling for a fair and equitable distribution of development funds across all districts of the province.

He said development planning should be guided by need, population, economic contribution and the level of deprivation, rather than political preferences.

Billions of rupees worth of development projects have been allocated to a few selected districts, while several others have been overlooked in the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP), he noted, adding that schemes proposed by elected public representatives in some areas were ignored, according to the press release.

Balanced development requires transparent and proper planning to ensure every district of Balochistan receives equal opportunities for economic and social progress, Jam Kamal Khan said, warning that disparities in resource allocation could further aggravate the province's already sensitive situation.

He said the Chief Minister represents the entire province as well as the coalition government, and should therefore ensure all regions are treated in a balanced and impartial manner.
