FM reviews corporate, capital market reforms at SECP

July 08, 2026 (MLN): Federal Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb visited the headquarters of the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP), where he chaired a high-level meeting to review matters related to the corporate and financial sectors.

During the meeting, SECP Chairman Dr. Kabir Ahmed Sidhu gave a detailed briefing to the Finance Minister. The SECP commissioners also attended the meeting.

The participants discussed matters relating to the corporate sector, capital markets, and the non-banking financial sector.

They also reviewed measures aimed at promoting investment and developing capital markets.

The meeting further deliberated on improving the ease of doing business and promoting company registrations.

Discussions also focused on strengthening corporate governance and enhancing the effectiveness of the regulatory framework.

Matters related to the sustainable development of Pakistan's corporate and financial sectors also came under discussion.

The SECP reaffirmed its commitment to fostering a business-friendly environment, ensuring effective enforcement of laws, and promoting fair business practices.

The Finance Minister appreciated the SECP's actions in issuing notices to State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs).
