FBR extends tax return filing deadline to October 31

October 16, 2026 (MLN): The deadline for filing income tax returns for Tax Year 2026 has been extended by another 16 days, to October 31, 2026, according to Circular No. 04 of 2026-27 issued on October 15, 2026.

The extension applies to persons who were required to file their returns by September 30, 2026, and whose deadline had earlier been pushed to October 15, 2026, through Circular No. 3 of 2026-27 dated September 30, 2026.

The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) granted the further extension in view of requests from various trade bodies and tax bar associations.
